Perfection

We always want to have a perfect life but at times what we wish for may not seem to take place.... Is there what we can call a PERFECT Life - Partner - Job - Family etc...??? well, if I had to say, there is no chance to get everything 100% PERFECT but it shall be close to it with a bit of IMPERFECTION too....

I remember listening to this dialog said by 'Bree Van de Kamp' from the an acclaimed serial - Desperate Housewives; where she said "I am not as perfect as I may look" where she is always portrayed as this perfect housewife & everyone in Wisteria Lane thinks her life is so perfect but that’s what they see from the outside but behind closed doors, it was the opposite.

So, what’s with all the talk about PERFECTION now???? Well, if can recall to my previous penning - there is something for to say in general before I go to the agenda. So, what is brewing up now????

For those novel-holics, does Jane Austin's EMMA ring a bell to ya'll??? Well, there was a Bollywood adaptation to it & it was named AISHA..... Well, the adaptation was a movie I should say.

Sonam Kapoor (Aisha), Abhay Deol (Arjun), Ira Dubey (Pinky Bose), Amrita Puri (Shefali Thakur) are among those who were in the film which was directed by Rajshree Ojha & music score by Amit Trivedi; which saw the release on the 1st week of August. What’s the story like???

Well, Aisha is a girl with a simple problem - she has to take others problems into her own hands; and match-making amongst her friends in particular. She is constantly criticized by her friend/neighbour Arjun who advises her to stop meddling with others lives. She is unperturbed and carries on. She tries to make a match between her rustic friend Shefali and Randhir. She fails in her attempts and in the due course; she tries to match up Shefali with Dhruv until one day she realizes that love does not come by force. She loses her friend Pinky due to her actions (Pinky tells Aisha that she makes herself look perfect & those around her are not perfect) who in the end falls in love with Randhir. Shefali finds her love in Saurabh. She realizes that she had been selfish and arrogant all along, and has mistreated her friends. Finally, she goes back to her best friend – Pinky and apologizes for her actions. She realizes that she was in love with Arjun; but finds it difficult to express. In the end, she finds the courage and expresses her love to Arjun. The movie ends in a good note with everyone finding their love.

It gave the audience a glimpse on living life with the touch of richness; making one to feel like a upper – class socialite and that’s Aisha for you. Sonam Kapoor was portrayed as a Fashionista where Prada, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Versace were among what complimented her wardrobe but she comes from the high-middle class family; she carried her character well & proved to be one of the upcoming promising stars. Even the rest of the cast proved to be on top notch gear to portray well and for new comers like Ira Dubey (daughter of Lillete Dubey) & Amrita Puri gave out a promising performance & we can watch for them more.

Aisha thought her life was PERFECT but it took her friend Pinky to say it’s not and don’t try to make other’s life PERFECT because it’s not; you need that lil’ amount of IMPERFECTION to compliment your life.

So, at times certain things may look perfect to one’s eye but when really seen, it is actually not. Aisha was a look into an individual’s life.

What about family??? I don’t think there is a perfect family as each individual has his / her own flaws. There will be a day gone by without at least 2 members of the family either fighting over something or bickering each other as that is what makes a family in total....

Hence my next writing is going to see the Bollywood adaptation of the 1998 film STEPMOM; those movie-holics out there sure can remember this movie which had Julia Roberts, Susan Sarandon, and Ed Harris in the lead role; but in WE ARE FAMILY it was Kajol (Maya), Arjun Rampal (Aman), Kareena Kapoor (Shreya) were in the lead role together with young artist Aanchal Munjal (Aleya), Nominath Ginsburg (Ankush), and Diya Sonecha (Anjali). Directed by Siddharth Malhotra and produced by Karan Johar; well one should be able to know that when it’s a Dharma Production & has family sentiments, well should I really say it...???

So, was it the same to as its Englsih take???

Maya is a perfect mother. Her life revolves around her three children, Aleya, Ankush, and Anjali. Despite being divorced from her husband; Aman, Maya has ensured that everything runs smoothly in her house and that they continue to remain a happy family unit. However, when Aman introduces his girlfriend, Shreya – a career oriented woman, who has a lot to learn about children, to the family, the situation immediately takes an unexpected turn.

When Shreya comes with Aman to Anjali's birthday party, she accidentally drops Anjali's cake - this causes the kids to perceive Shreya as evil. The next day, Aman tells Shreya to babysit the three kids at his house because Maya is out of town. At a fashion show Anjali helps Shreya with the outfit. When Shreya goes to get ice cream for the kids, Aleya tells Anjali and Ankush that she is using them so she can take their dad away; soon after Anjali goes missing. At the police station, Shreya and the kids see Maya and Aman, and Shreya is told by Aman that she cannot go near the children unless she has Maya's permission.

Several days later, Maya finds out that she has terminal cancer and tells Aman - this prompts him to move back in with the family. However, when Maya tells the kids that she has cancer, Aleya retaliates by going to one of her friend's party with an older boy. After a few days later Maya tells Shreya that she has cancer. Shreya agrees to move in and leaves her career as a fashion designer. In the following days, all three kids develop an attachment towards Shreya. But when Maya and Shreya have a fight Aman tells Maya that they should not be competing with each other. At the same time Maya faints and ends up in the hospital and the doctor tells her that she has only few days left. Shreya has to take care of the kids while Aman is with Maya at the hospital. Maya comes home for Diwali and all the kids make a special event for her. When they take a family photograph, Maya asks Shreya to join them as she is now family. Ten years later we see Aleya getting married and Shreya gives her a bracelet which belonged to Maya. Aleya wishes that her mother was there. In the end, Shreya looks at the stars and remembers what Maya said to her.

Kajol...... What is there for me to say about her???? Can words say how she has become a very talented star & just knows how to deliver the character given to her without leaving us wanting for more? There will be one scene in the movie where I felt she gave a good & remembering act without any make up on & that’s something not anyone can do easily. She has been one of my favourite female leading ladies that onscreen persona comes to light brightly & can be remembered. Arjun Rampal & Kareena Kapoor did their part well too but it was the 3 young starlets who delivered their part well & sure to remember is the cute little Anjali who was portrayed by Diya Sonecha; she was damn cute & bubbly – talkative child and I just loved her as, well it kinda reminded of me when I was young..... By the way, remember when I said what it’s a Dharma production & family sentiments; well I’ll bravely admit that tears did flow & I was not the only one (I remember there was this few Aunties who were sobbing away & also not to forget this macho – beefy guy who entered the cinema smiling went out of the cinema red – eyed..... Also, my good friend Sashi who said will not (at least try to) shed tears towards the end shed tears)

So, having said about Aisha & We Are Family; PERFECTION is something not easy to attain but its this IMPERFECTION that will lead one to PERFECTION but always remember that there is not going to be something where we can say it is 100% PERFECT as it’s always going to be near to PERFECTION but just not PERFECT.....

**PS: This was supposed to be published in mid of September but you see, I’m not that PERFECT & well......
